PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alarm device for continuing an alarm operation without damaging and destroying the configuration member of the device and a peripheral member such as a supporter, etc., even when a strong pulling force is generated by the linkage of the height exceeding place of an object coming into a prescribed place with a cable body. SOLUTION: The alarm device comprises a means for holding at a prescribed position the cable body which is stretched to cross the object coming into the prescribed place; a means for detecting the traction of the stretched cable body; a means for releasing the holding of the cable body when a tension by the traction exceeds a prescribed value; and a means for performing the alarm operation when the traction of the cable body is detected or when the tension by the traction exceeds the prescribed value.
