摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric deionization apparatus which dramatically reduces an amount of condensed drainage and has an extremely high liquid utilization rate even if only the electric deionization apparatus, and a method for operating it. SOLUTION: In the electric deionization apparatus having a deionization chamber, a condensation chamber and an electrode chamber, and obtaining a deionized liquid from the deionization chamber by applying voltage to a pair of electrodes, the condensation chamber is divided into two or more chambers by a diaphragm, and configured by a primary condensation chamber C1 supplied with a thin condensate and a second condensation chamber C2 supplied with a thicker condensate than that; the primary condensation chamber C1 is placed at one side or both sides on the cathode side or the anode side of the deionization chamber D; a conjugate of the deionization chamber D and the primary condensation chamber C1 is alternately laminated with the second condensation chamber C2; and two condensate circulation systems having a primary condensate circulation system 14 through the primary condensation chamber C1 and a secondary condensate circulation system 15 through the second condensation chamber C2 are provided.
