PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester fiber that has high strength despite of hollow cross section and a method for efficiently producing the same, and provide an woven fabric having high bulkiness, excellent heat retention, soft feeling and light weight, particularly denim fabric. SOLUTION: This is a polyester crimped fiber having more than 3 hollow parts, an intrinsic viscosity of 0.70 to 1.0 dl/g, a crimping rate of 3 to 10%, a strength of 3.5 to 5.5 cN/dtex, a boiling water shrinkage of less than 4.0% and the hollow rate of the constituting fiber is 10 to 30% and has excellent heat-retaining property. This invention further provides an woven fabric produced by the polyester fiber and shows excellent heat retention property and provide a method for producing the polyester fiber.
