PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a game machine which can reduce the difference between the "actual number values" of the game balls to be put out by the execution of the special games and its "set value". SOLUTION: The game machine is provided with a variable prize winning device which includes a prize winning slot, a prize ball detection means, a prize ball passing path and an open/close member to enable the execution of the round prize ball games in the execution of the special games. The conditions for ending the rounds of the round prize ball games are established by making the total number of the prize balls detected by the prize ball detection means reach its number at the end of each round or others. The prize ball passing path is provided with a retention means for retaining the prize balls. In each round of the round prize ball games except for the final round, when the total number of the prize balls detected by the prize ball detection means reaches the number of the prize balls at the end of each round, the retaining action by the retention means is started and when the round prize ball game involved in the subsequent round is started, the retaining action by the retention means is released.
