The object of the present invention is to determine inflammatory diseases such as myocardial infarction by identifying single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) associated with myocardial infarction and utilizing these SNPs. The present invention provides a method for determining an inflammatory disease, which comprises detecting at least one gene polymorphism existing in at least one gene selected from the group consisting of a lymphotoxin-alpha (LT-alpha) gene, an I Kappa B-like (IKBL) gene, and a BAT1 gene; an oligonucleotide used in said method; a kit for diagnosing an inflammatory disease which comprises said oligonucleotide; and use thereof. The present invention further provides a method for treating an inflammatory disease; and a method for screening for a therapeutic agent for an inflammatory disease.
