PROCESS FOR PRODUCING CYCLOOLEFIN RESIN COMPOSITION

A process for producing a cycloolefin resin composition comprising a cycloolefin resin and an additive with a twin-screw extruder. The additive loss caused by volatilization through a vent during melt kneading is reduced, and the resin material can be sufficiently kneaded together with the additive. The process comprises kneading a cycloolefin resin together with an additive with a vented twin-screw extruder (10) to produce an additive-containing cycloolefin resin composition, wherein the twin-screw extruder has an additive introduction opening (3) disposed downstream from a vent (2) located nearest to the discharge opening (13) of the extruder and the distance between the additive introduction opening and the discharge opening of the twin-screw extruder is longer than 10D and not longer than 30D. The additive is introduced through the introduction opening.
