A supporting structure for a light source capable of preventing contact sound produced due to the contact of the light source with a structure therearound from being produced by vibration. A cold cathode tube (3) forming the light source and optical sheets (5) controlling the characteristics of a light beam emitted from the cold cathode tube (3) are disposed at the front of a back light angle (2). Also, a frame (6a) formed in an opened roughly quadrate shape is fitted to the back light angle from the front side of the optical sheets. Then, rubber holders (33a) fitted to the base part of the cold cathode tube (3) and the peripheral edge parts of the optical sheets (5) are fixedly held between the back light angle (2) and the frame (6a).
