PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a game ball storage device capable of operating a game machine island by using another storage tank even when the discharge abnormality of game balls occurs in the storage tank of high priority, and the game machine island. SOLUTION: Among the plurality of storage tanks 30 for storing game balls to be circulated in the game machine island 10 where a plurality of game machines 2 are arranged side by side, the one with opening abnormality that an opening/closing device 33 is not operated even when an opening instruction is sent out to the opening/closing device 33 which opens and closes the discharge port or the discharge abnormality that the game balls are not discharged due to the clogging of foreign matters at the discharge port or the like is detected. Then, in the case of the opening abnormality, the storage tank is excluded from selection objects at the time of selecting the storage tank for discharging the game balls to the ball introducing port of a lifting device according to prescribed priorities.
