PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seedling planting device of a riding type rice transplanter, which prevents that large roads are given to a transverse shaft, when longitudinal arms are disposed on the transverse shaft and drive right and left input portions. SOLUTION: The right and left side portions of the transverse shaft 33 are rotatably supported on support members 28, 30, 31, and the transverse shaft 33 is rotated to reciprocately and transversely drive the convey members 34, 35 along the transverse shaft 33. Thus, a seedling tray 22 is reciprocately and transversely driven. Longitudinal arms 56 are fixed to transverse shaft 33 portions projecting from the right and left support members 28, 30 and 31 on the right and left outsides, and the input portions of a longitudinal mechanism of the seedling tray 22 are disposed on the right and left sides of the seedling tray 22.
