PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric reel for fishing, enabling a speed-changing operation to be carried out precisely and timely according to the condition of a fishing spot without damaging the presence feeling of a speed change-switching operation at actual fishing and by simultaneously facilitating the visual observation of the speed change-switching state. SOLUTION: The first invention is characterized by the switching position of a switching member, attached to the reel body so as to be visually confirmed in the electric reel having a spool supported by the reel body so as to be freely rotatable, a spool-driving motor for driving the spool so as to wind, and the mechanical speed-changing device provided in a driving system of the spool and for switching the power-transmitting state of the spool driving motor to the spool between a high-speed power transmitting state and a low-speed power transmitting state by the operation of the switching member.
