<p>A plating layer (18) of Ni, or the like, is formed on the outer circumferential surface (14) of a wire tool (10) and super-abrasive grains (16) are electrodeposited to be buried in the plating layer (18). A coating layer (20) is formed on the surface of the super-abrasive grains (16) in order to enhance efficiency at the time electrodeposition. The coating layer (20) formed on the super-abrasive grains (16) has a thickness of less than 0.1 µm, more preferably less than 0.05 µm. Alternatively, the coating layer (20) is made thin to have a mass of less than 10% of that of the super-abrasive grain (16). Consequently, the super-abrasive grains (16) are electrodeposited in a single layer on the outer circumferential surface (14) of a core (12). Since the super-abrasive grain (16) are not separated easily from the core (12), lifetime of the wire tool is prolonged. Furthermore, production man-hours and cost can be reduced because a process for removing excessive super-abrasive grains is not required after electrodeposition.</p> |
