<p>At the time of knitting a tubular fabric (1) having a difference in the number of wales between a front fabric and a rear fabric, the fabrics are knitted alternately while turning the tubular fabric (1) and jointing the front body (2) having a large number of wales at intermediate portions. The tubular fabric (1) is turned such that one border line (4R) out of border lines (4L, 4R) coupling the fabrics is located between front and rear needle beds. The numbers of wales of the fabrics engaged with the needle beds on both sides are equalized and the fabric of the front body (2) having a large number of wales is knitted from one border line (4R) to the joints (2L, 2R) at an intermediate portion of the knitting width. Subsequently, the tubular fabric (1) is turned such that the other border line (4L) is located between the needle beds, and the fabric is knitted from the border line (4L) of the front body (2) to the joints (2L, 2R) and then coupled.</p> |
