The workpiece holder (3) for the thermal treatment such as the final drying and debinding of exhaust gas catalysers is constructed to be reusable in a hot air oven (1) and which has at least one support surface and a hot air passage encompassed by the support surface, wherein an exhaust gas catalyser (4) is supported on the support surface and sealed by its bearing face. The support surface has a contour corresponding to the bearing face, and the support surface forms for the exhaust gas catalyser a tapering or widening centering surface. An independent claim is included for a hot air oven for the thermal treatment such as the final drying and debinding of exhaust gas catalysers.
