PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an n-type thermoelectric conversion material in which an environment load is small, an inexpensive raw material is used, a high Seebeck coefficient is achieved while low electric resistivity is maintained, and thermal conductivity is low. SOLUTION: A compound comprising a perovskite structure indicated by a general expression ABO<SB>3</SB>is used as a principal constituent when A, B, and O indicate strontium, titanium, and oxygen, respectively. Cerium substitutes for 1-5 atom% of strontium, and zirconium or hafnium equivalent to 1-10 atom% of titanium excessively exists in an oxide.
