摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and unit for measuring molten metal surface level in a blast furnace for accurately and surely measuring the surface level of the molten material in the blast furnace. SOLUTION: As electrodes set on the side at the lower part of the furnace, two pieces for current application and at least three pieces for voltage detection are required and for simplicity, two electrodes for current application (the electrode 5a and the electrode 5e) and three electrodes for voltage detection (the electrode 5b, the electrode 5c and the electrode 5d) are supposed to be set, and two pieces (the electrode 5b and the electrode 5c) among the electrodes for voltage detection are set above a molten iron tapping hole, and one piece (the electrode 5d) is set below the molten iron tapping hole. Further, since the surface of the molten iron in the furnace is considered to change at most only about several tens of centimeters, between two electrodes set above the molten iron tapping hole, the electrode at the lower side is made to set at a position where it is always above the molten iron surface level.
