<p>The method enables manipulation of a data memory in which a CPU connected to the data memory manipulates data in a memory area of the data memory in manipulation steps. The CPU monitors a monitor region of a first memory area. The completion of manipulation of the first memory area can be detected from the state of the monitor area. A CPU with a temporary memory is used, into which data is read from the data memory. Part of the data memory is set as a first exclusion area of the data memory, which is not read into the temporary memory. This is done in a preliminary determining step where the exclusion area is determined to include the monitor area. Independent claims also cover an arrangement for manipulating the contents of a data memory, and a franking machine with such an arrangement.</p> |
