Device for monitoring a moisture barrier, especially a linear or planar barrier, has an arrangement of electrodes (3, 4) forming a test field (5) around the moisture barrier. Sensors (7) are provided for monitoring the electric field and the readings from the sensors are evaluated by an evaluation device (8). The latter compares measured values with standard values and if the difference is greater than a threshold amount causes an alarm to be triggered indicating a break or damage in the moisture barrier. |
