The invention presents a tacker for driving fastening means (15), in particular staples, into a workpiece (10), comprising a housing (11) with a handle (12) formed thereon and a magazine (13) which is filled with fastening means (15) and has an ejection channel (14) for ejecting one of the fastening means (15) at a time. In order to drive the fastening means (15) in at an accurate distance from one another during the driving-in operation without set-up times at the workpiece (10), a distance setting device (17) for observing a predeterminable distance between consecutive fastening means (15) to be driven into the workpiece (10) is disposed at the housing (11), which device is formed such that it predetermines the set-down point for the ejection channel (14) at the predetermined distance (a) from the fastening means (15) driven into the workpiece (10) immediately beforehand. The distance setting device (17) preferably comprises a projection unit (18) which projects a light mark (19) onto the workpiece (10) at a predetermined distance (a) from the ejection channel (14). |
