<p>A mass spectrometer comprising: a first mass filter or mass analyser 7; a first ion guide or collision, fragmentation or reaction device 8, arranged and adapted to fragment or react ions to produce product, daughter, adduct or fragment ions; an ion mobility spectrometer or separator 10; a second ion guide or collision, fragmentation or reaction device 13; a second mass filter or mass analyzer 16; and an ion detector 15. The first and/or second mass filter/analyzer may comprise a multipole rod set, or a TOF filter/analyser, but may also be operated in a non-resolving ion guiding mode.
