<p>Damping of parasitic circular currents in parallel connected conductors (4.1) of an AC stator winding (4). Each phase is connected in series with a non-moving damper element (1) comprising a soft magnetic damper core (2) with radially extending teeth (2.12) and surrounded by a yoke ring (2.2). On each tooth (2.12) one of the parallel conductors (4.1) is wound. Nominal currents will compensate to zero within one slot (5) formed by two adjacent teeth (2.12), since the slot (5) comprises adjacent parallel conductors (4.1) in opposite direction, thus having no effect to the damper core (2). However, parasitic circular currents will not vanish in a damper core slot (5) and will be dampened by the damper core induction.</p> |
