The invention relates to a method and to a plant for drying with circulating driving air wooden elements that are stacked in mutuall y spaced relationship in a chamber (2) which is essentially sealed from the ou tside. The heat content and the moisture content of the drying air can be controlled, wherein the moisture content of the drying air circul ating in the chamber (2) is controlled by ventilation an d the driving air is cooled by and condenses on one or more cooling surfaces (11) disposed in the chamber as the air passes in contact wit h said surfaces. these surfaces being cooled by replacement air which enters the ch amber (2) from outside the chamber.
