A falling or rolling body comprising a magnetic material transfers its kinetic energy to one or more (very) high strength magnetic fields (17) extending around the shaft (12A) defining the fall or roll trajectory and these fields brake the fall, the counter-reaction to which is the supply of electrical current by the coils and magnets due to changing voltage ratios. The bodies are returned to the top of the shaft by a hydraulic system (11B) comprising a column of liquid inside which the bodies float to the top for another fall cycle. The bodies are e.g. hollow balls.
|
