The invention refers to agriculture, namely to the oat selection.The process for Avena sativa L. oat selection, according to the invention, includes sowing of the initial selection material with 70...90 days later than the optimum terms, during 5 years, afterwards it is carried out sowing in optimum terms and there are selected the oat forms with 1...3 additional panicles, it is carried out sowing of seeds from said panicles and there are selected the forms with one panicle on the central stem. The result consists in obtaining an initial material for the selection of highly productive, drought and disease resistant oat forms.
