In a HVDC power transmission system comprising a rectifier station 1 coupled to an inverter station 2 by a D.C. line L, each station is provided with a regulator for setting a certain current value in the D.C. line, the rectifier setting exceeding the inverter setting by the " current margin ". Each regulator is provided with a maximum current limiting device comprising a permanent D.C. source 72, 82 which is counter connected to a variable D.C. source proportional to the direct current, the latter being provided by, for example, a transducer 9, 10. The level at which the current is controlled is set by potentiometers 7, 8 and the " current margin " is determined by the source 65 connected to the control circuit 6 by switch 64. A similar circuit 54, 55 is provided in the rectifier for use when the transmission direction is reversed.</p> |
