The method involves receiving a radiometric signal emitted in a detection zone. A signal is transmitted to a radiometer (10) based on the emitted radiometric signal. Information relative to the presence or not of a body in the detection zone is evaluated by an evaluation unit (32) of the radiometer based on the transmitted signal and a priori knowledge of the transmitted signal in case of presence of the body in the zone. An independent claim is also included for an installation of detection of the presence of a body in a detection zone.
