AN ELECTRIC-POWER -ASSIST TRANSMISSION AND A SHIFT CONTROL METHOD WHICH ALLOW GOOD OPERATABILITY TO BE OBTAINED.IN A SHIFT CONTROL METHOD, A SLEEVE (30)ENGAGED WITH A TARGET GEAR (40).A SHIFT SPINDLE (3) IS ROTATED BY A DRIVING MOTOR (1) IN ORDER TO MOVE THE SLEEVE (30) ALONG A MAIN SHAFT (4) BY USING A SHIFT FORK (11) AND A SHIFT DRUM (10) INTERLOCKED WITH THE SHIFT SPINDLE (3), WHEN THE SLEEVE (30) IS MOVED TO A POSITION IN CONTACT WITH THE TARGET GEAR (40), PWM CONTROL IS EXECUTED AT A DUTY RATIO OF 70% DURINGTHE FIRST 20 MS. THEREAFTER, THE PWM CONTROL IS EXECUTED BY CHANGING THE DUTY RATIO TO 50% AND RESTORING THE DUTY RATIO BACK TO 70% REPEATEDLY AT INTERVALS OF 10 MS.(FIG. 2)
