Novel 1,2,4-triazole compounds

Disclosed are 1,2,4-triazole compounds of formula (1), wherein; R2 is an optionally substituted pyridyl, R1 is an optionally substituted pyridyl, pyridine-N-oxide, or phenyl, and R3 is H or substituted alkyl. The compounds are used for the manufacture for medicaments for inhibiting xanthine oxidase, or as an anti-gout or anti-hyperuricemic agent.
