Poly-Gly,Tyr can be used for the preparation of a pharmaceutical composition for preventing or inhibiting neuronal degeneration in the central nervous system (CNS) or peripheral nervous system (PNS) for promoting nerve regeneration in the CNS or PNS , for treating an injury in the CNS or PNS, or for a disorder or diseases caused or exacerbated by glutamate toxicity.
