<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a papermaking screen support member capable of making heat easily dissipated from a papermaking screen to the support member, by keeping a contact state of a cutting edge with the papermaking screen best, so as to make it possible that the paparmaking screen support member is prevented from forming cracks and therefore papermaking of high-quality paper is conducted at a high speed, capable of being prolonged in a lifetime, capable of maintaining papermaking quality for a long period, and capable of being suitably used for high-speed mapermaking machines in recent years. <P>SOLUTION: This papermaking screen support member comprises a member which supports the paparmaking screen by being contacted therewith in the papermaking machine, wherein at least a tip part of the member is formed out of silicon nitride-based ceramics having an average aspect ratio of crystals of 5-10 and the member has a flatness of 10-100 μm per 30 mm in width and 1000 mm in length. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
