PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To grasp quantitatively an immobilization quantity of a probe onto an electrode, and to thereby quantitatively detect gene in large quantities with high sensitivity at high speed.

SOLUTION: This method for detecting gene electrochemically by hybridizing gene having a specific arrangement with the probe is characterized by detecting the probe electrochemically.
