PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle steering controller making realization of appropriate restorability when hands are off a steering wheel compatible with realization of precise transmission of road surface feeling to a driver when hands are on the steering wheel. SOLUTION: The vehicle steering controller is equipped with a steering part (1) receiving a steering input, a steered part (3) which is mechanically separated and turns turning wheels 16, 16 according to the steering input, a reaction force motor 5 adding a steering reaction force according to the steered state of the steered part (3) to the steering part (1), a hands off detection means detecting whether or not the steering part (1) is in a state where the hands are off, and a steering reaction force compensation means which makes the steering reaction force smaller than a state where the hands are on.
