PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique reducing power consumption with a simple configuration in the communication apparatus of an orthogonal frequency division multiplex system. SOLUTION: This communication apparatus is provided with: a signal amplifying means (104) for performing signal amplification of a plurality of sub-carriers; and power control means (110, 111) for performing control to suppress peak transmission power in the plurality of sub-carriers, so that the peak transmission power may be not more than a power value to be decided on the basis of at least any one of information about a modulation system and a coding rate of the plurality of sub-carriers.
