PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate defects caused by a refrigerant dissolved into a lubricating oil of a compressor of a refrigerating apparatus which repeats shutdown in a comparatively long cycle. SOLUTION: The refrigerating apparatus is provided with a compressor 1 for compressing a refrigerant; an oil tank 11 for storing the lubricating oil supplied to the compressor 1; a heater 13 for heating the lubricating oil in the oil tank 11; and a controller 27 for controlling current application to the heater 13. Operation and stop are performed based on a plan. The controller 27 starts current application to the heater 13 a set time t before the predetermined start time T0 of the compressor 1 and stops current application in accordance with the start time of the compressor 1. Inconvenience caused by vaporization and foaming of the refrigerant dissolved into the lubricating oil by the start of the compressor can thereby be eliminated, and waste of electric power for heating the lubricating oil can be eliminated.
