<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for controlling the power ramp rate of a wind farm (12). <P>SOLUTION: A windfarm (12) includes a plurality of wind turbine generators (14, 16, 18) and a wind farm control system (48). The wind farm control system (48) monitors the rates of changes of the total output powers of the wind turbine generators (14, 16, 18), and generate the power output rate limiting signals, based on the monitor the rates of changes of total output powers of the wind turbine generators (14, 16, 18) and the desired total output ramps of wind turbine generators (14, 16, 18) and transmit the power output rate limiting signals to a plurality of wind turbine generators (14, 16, 18), thereby enabling operation so as to limit the rates of changes of the total output powers. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
