<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery capable of improving cycling characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: A wound electrode body 20 in which a positive electrode 21 and a negative electrode 22 are laminated and wound through a separator 23 is housed in a battery can 11. The negative electrode 22 contains a material comprising at least one kind of silicon and tin as a structure element. An electrolyte is impregnated in the separator 23.
