<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a telephone system in which maintainability is enhanced by making possible to alter the service interface of a telephone terminal immediately upon occurrence of interface trouble. <P>SOLUTION: A user designation mode for setting the service interface of an IP telephone terminal explicitly by user designation, and an automatic assignation mode where the service interface of the IP telephone terminal is implicit can be designated selectively for each terminal. Service mode of each IP telephone terminal is registered as a database in an exchange 200. When no response is received after transmitting a connection request a plurality of times, the IP telephone terminal broadcasts a connection request toward all main interfaces. Upon receiving the connection request from the IP telephone terminal in automatic assignment mode by broadcast, the exchange 200 slects an appropriate one of interfaces capable of servicing the IP telephone terminal at that moment in time and sends back the IP address of the IP telephone terminal service interface thus selected. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
