PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively carry out redundant copying when different RAID type hard disk devices are used in combination in an RAID device. SOLUTION: Information about the RAID types (RAID 1, RAID 0+1, RAID 2, RAID 3, RAID 4, or RAID 5) of hard disk devices 10, 11a-11d, 12a-12d, and 14a-14d is stored, and based on the stored information about the RAID types, hard disk devices 12b and 14c as copy sources are selected in redundant copying.
