PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink cartridge in which the function as a valve member can be sustained while preventing leakage of ink or evaporation of moisture in the ink even when the valve member is impressed longer than a normal stroke. SOLUTION: As the valve member 54 is pushed up and the sidewall part 36 is pulled and elongated, opening 37a of a bulging part 37 is enlarged. When it is pushed up excessively, the valve member 54 projects from the opening 37a and cannot be reset to a position adhering to a valve seat part 46a. But when the valve member 54 begins to be pushed up excessively, the bulging part 37 abuts against the wall face 70a at the lower end of the rib 70 and regulates undue movement of the valve member 54 thus preventing projection of the valve member 54 from the opening 37a.
