PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cable laying direction changing member enabling the easy installation of a cable thereon without deforming or dismounting a cable guide. SOLUTION: This cable laying direction changing member 10 comprises a pulley 12 mounted on a cable laying direction changing member body 11 and the cable guide 14 disposed at a position where the clearance thereof from the circumferential parts of the flanges 13 of the pulley 12 is smaller than the outer diameter of the cable C along a part of the circumferential parts of the flanges 13 of the pulley 12. In the pulley 12, a cutout part 17 for passing the cable C therein from the outside of the flange 13 to a pulley groove 16 side in which the cable C is applied is formed in at least a part of the one side flange 13. The cutout part 17 comprises such a depth d1 that can produce a clearance between the cable C passed from the sides of the flanges 13 to the pulley groove 16 side and the cable guide 14, and the cable C passed from the cutout part 17 to the pulley groove 16 is applied to the pulley groove 16 while the pulley 12 is rotated.
