PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of preventing leaching out of lead from molten slag which enables utilization of slag by reducing the amount of lead leaching out from slag, with a convenient treatment, to a level equal to or lower than the standard for the leaching test of≤0.01 mg/l, the 19th public notice, the Environment Agency. SOLUTION: Leaching out of lead from molten slag is prevented by mixing the slag with 0.1-2 wt.% of cement or its mixture with a powder chelate. The method permits a reduction of the amount of lead leaching out from molten slag to 0.01 mg/l or lower, with the lower limit of determination of 0.005 mg/l. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
