PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital camera capable of satisfying both of an improvement in rapid shooting speed and that in necessary image quality. SOLUTION: The digital camera includes a first storage means for storing rapidly-shot images temporarily, a second storage means for storing images recorded by the digital camera, and an image recognition means for detecting a difference between previous and subsequent images among images stored in the first storage means. When the image recognition means has discriminated an existence of the difference, a compression ratio of the second storage means is changed.
