PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a porous body which has pores prevented from being plugged, can secure a sufficient amount of water permeating under a comparatively low pressure, gives a film excellent in heat stability and chemical resistance, and has a sufficient strength. SOLUTION: The production method comprises the following: a step for obtaining a uniform polymer solution by heating a mixture containing a polyvinyl acetal resin, an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer resin, and a solvent; a step for obtaining a molded article by molding the polymer solution into a prescribed shape; a step for causing phase separation by cooling the molded article; and a step for extracting and eliminating the solvent present in the molded article after the phase separation by using an extractant capable of dissolving the solvent.
