PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tool rest capable of mounting a tool holder on a turret in a short period of time, easily and in high precision and positioning the tool holder on the turret in high precision. SOLUTION: This tool rest is furnished with the tool holder to hold a tool and the polygonal columnar turret 30 supported free to rotate and on an outer peripheral surface of which a plurality of the tool holders are mounted free to connect and disconnect to and from it. A first key 32, a second key 33 and a third key 34 respectively having engaging surfaces 32a, 33a, 34a in parallel with each other on both sides are projected and formed on each of tool holder mounting surfaces 30a of the outer peripheral surface of the turret 30, the engaging surfaces 32a, 34a of the first key 32 and the third key 34 are formed in parallel with each other and the engaging surface 33a of the second key 33 is formed to be orthogonal with the engaging surface 32a of the first key 32 and a key groove in which each of the keys 32, 33, 34 is inserted and which is engaged with each of the engaging surfaces 32a, 33a, 34a is formed on a turret mounting surface of the tool holder.
