A metal touch type butterfly valve capable of increasing both a sealability when a butterfly valve element is closed and a rotational smoothness when the butterfly valve element is openably rotated, comprising a valve body (1) in which a fluid passage (2) is formed, the metal butterfly valve element (3) rotatably installed in the fluid passage in the valve body, and a valve seat ring body (7) installed so that the outer peripheral seal surface of the butterfly valve element is brought into metal-to-metal contact with the inner peripheral surface of the fluid passage. A valve seat ring member (9) is formed of a metal plate into a plate-like ring body formed flat in the vertical direction, and fixed, on its outer periphery, to the inner peripheral surface of the fluid passage. The inner periphery of the valve seat ring member is formed in a cylindrical part (15) formed by bending the metal plate toward the butterfly valve element. A seal ring part (16) formed by curling the metal plate in a pipe shape is installed around the tip of the cylindrical part, and the seal surface of the butterfly valve element is brought into metal-to-metal contact with the seal ring part.
