摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing lignin from which an organic acid is removed and a long-life lead storage battery made by adding lignin from which an organic acid is removed to a negative electrode active substance.

SOLUTION: The method for producing lignin from which an organic acid is removed comprises acidifying a lignin-containing solution to pH ≤2, removing an organic acid salt in the lignin as a free organic acid and then recovering the rest. Since the method has a simple process and excellent productivity, lignin is inexpensively produced. The lead storage battery is obtained by adding the lignin to a negative electrode active substance, has a reduced organic acid in an electrolyte, prevents corrosion of a positive terminal and has a long life.
