<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent remaining toner after transfer from sticking on a charging roller in an image forming apparatus which has an image carrier, the charging roller coming into contact with the image carrier, an exposing device forming an electrostatic latent image by exposing the image carrier charged by the charging roller, and a development device for developing the electrostatic latent image formed on the image carrier, and collects the remaining toner after transfer sticking on the image carrier, after the toner image on the image carrier has been transferred to an intermediate transfer belt in the devleopment device. <P>SOLUTION: Provided is a toner charging device 30 which charges remaining toner particles T1 and T2 on the image carrier 2Y, before the charging roller 9, to the normal polarity, the toner charging device 30 being disposed apart from the surface of the image carrier 2Y. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
