<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an authentication device utilizing the vein pattern of a finger which can accurately read the vein pattern of the finger, the finer being an object to be tested. <P>SOLUTION: A first authentication device utilizing the vein pattern of the finger is characterized in that the finger (3) to be tested is placed in a valley-like gap (5) formed by a pair of inclined walls (4) opposing each other. At the bottom (6) of the valley-like gap, a bottom plate (7) slidable in the direction of the gap can be constructed. The bottom plate can be provided with a barrier (9) at a slide-beginning side end part (7b), or can be arranged along an upward inclined line (X) from a position (5b) where the proximal end side (3b) of the finger is placed to a position (5a) where the end side (3a) of the finger is placed. Meanwhile, a second authentication apparatus using the vein pattern of the finger is provided with a placing surface (8) of the object to be tested in which a position (8a) where the distal end side (3a) of the finger is placed is higher than a position (8b) where the proximal end side (3b) of the finger is placed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
