<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering device capable of enhancing safety of a driver at the time of a vehicle collision and being mounted on a vehicle body without making the device interfere with vehicle equipment facing to a cabin, in the electric power steering device capable of mounting a tilt telescopic mechanism without being hindered by a lock means for antitheft. <P>SOLUTION: This device is provided with a worm 51 interlocked and connected to an output shaft 41 of an electric motor 4, a housing 3 storing and supporting the worm 51 and mounted with the electric motor 4, an oscillating arm 91 pivotally supported in the housing 3 around the output shaft 41 and having an engagement part 9a engaged to an outer peripheral part of the output shaft 41, a spring body 92 for energizing the oscillating arm 91 in a direction to approach to the outer peripheral part of the output shaft 41, and a solenoid 93 for oscillating the oscillating arm 91 in a direction to separate from the outer peripheral part of the output shaft 41. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
