<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light guide plate of a backlight assembly for a liquid crystal display, wherein the "eyeball phenomenon", by which a section facing a light-emitting diode in a light emission surface light-emits brightly, as compared with the other sections is prevented. <P>SOLUTION: In the light guide plate 3 or 17, a light-emitting surface 11 of the front surface thereof emits light by the light made incident from its end surface side by using a light source disposed at light incident end surface 3a or 17a of the light guide plate 3 or 17. A plurality of grooves 16, extended from a light-incident side end part toward the light-emitting surface 11, are formed within at least one masked range of the front or the rear of a light-incident end edge 3X or 17X which is provided at the light-incident end part of the light guide plate 3 or 17 and at least one part of which is masked at assembling. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
