<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing apparatus and the like that enable an administrator to generate a definition file setting an installer as easily as to handle normal installation without manual work and special tools, and enable a user to hide controls found to be unnecessary. <P>SOLUTION: A single installer is switched between an administrator mode and a user mode. In the administrator mode, on a normal installation screen, a setting for displaying only necessary controls to users and a setting of default control values are possible, and the settings are written to a definition file.
